In July, I was very grateful to have been invited to a wedding in Copenhagen with my boyfriend.
This wedding was probably the most fun wedding I’ve attended. Wonderfully fun and nice people who made me feel so welcome (and my boyfriend by my side, of course), casual but beautiful ceremony and reception, delicious dinner, more food than you can eat, drinks, and even fireworks!
I’m sad to say I didn’t get very many pictures because I was busy drinking, eating, and having fun! I only got pictures of food…
First dish! The “Virgin lobster” was delicious… until I accidentally ate a part of the brain or some guts or something I wasn’t supposed to and turned everything bitter.
The (roast?) beef main course was so delicious, served with potatoes and mixed vegetables. We got really sad when we finished our plates, but then a waitress came by with a platter, asking if we wanted seconds!! Best thing you can offer people at a wedding– seconds.
I was actually starting to get really full (and saving some room for dessert), so I gave some to Sebastian, who gobbled it right up.
This ice-cream was amazing paired with the pistachio nuts and berries (including Danish strawberries I had been dying to try).
Note the super cute place cards (the photos are from our facebook).
And of course the wedding cake! Coffee and rhubarb cake! By then I was super stuffed but that didn’t stop me. Rhubarb seems to be much more popular in Denmark than anywhere I’ve been. Rhubarb candy is also deliciously popular.
The food didn’t stop there, bread, cheese, meats, and nuts were served a little bit later.
The party went on well into the morning and was such a blast! We had to leave a little bit early (at 4am!) to catch the night bus home, but there were still people out in the streets going and leaving parties and also people throwing up in the train. I love Copenhagen. 🙂
